Kelemen Monoband Dipoles are high-quality, preassembled wire antennas featuring full-size models and a few shortened low-band models with coils for lengths that are easier to fit in the yard. Kelemen Dipoles are rugged; strong but lightweight, with good stability and excellent longevity. The included balun is intentionally not potted watertight to save on weight, instead using effective weep holes. Maximum power handling depends on each model's balun or coil used on shorter antennas. Kelemen Dipoles are pre-tuned to the lower end of the band (CW) because they are easily shortened for use on the phone (SSB) end of the band.

Monoband dipoles are the simplest and most efficient type of dipole. Depending on the availability of supports, the Kelemen Dipole can be suspended in different ways and achieve different directional characteristics depending on the height. As an inverted-V set up close to the ground, it is an ideal omnidirectional antenna with strong high-angle radiation which is good for local traffic. The higher the dipole hangs, the flatter the radiation, and the better the chances for DX.

Due to the light construction of the Kelemen dipoles, the requirements for the supports are not very high. For example, with inverted-vee setups, a push-up mast is usually sufficient as a mast. With horizontal suspension, a small tree with a pulley can often be used as a support point. Insulators and center hooks are included with each preassemble Kelemen Dipole antenna. For installation, use lengths of non-conductive antenna rope for the center support and for each end of the dipole.
