The Yaesu M-100 is a high-quality desktop microphone designed for amateur radio operators who want richer, clearer and more adjustable transmitted audio with compatible Yaesu HF transceivers.
This model uses a dual-element configuration, combining a condenser capsule and a dynamic capsule. The condenser element provides a wider response with clear, crisp audio and stronger high-frequency presence. The dynamic element provides enhanced low and mid-range response, giving the voice a warmer and fuller character.
Using the buttons on the microphone base, each element can be used independently or both elements can be combined to create a sound that better matches the operator’s voice, operating style and band conditions.
The Yaesu M-100 also includes built-in Low-Cut and High-Cut filters, allowing the transmitted audio response to be shaped. The Low-Cut filter cuts low frequencies from 340 Hz, while the High-Cut filter acts from 2 kHz, both with a -6 dB/octave slope. These functions help tailor the audio for cleaner communication, whether for local operation, ragchew, DX or situations where speech intelligibility is important.
The supplied TBC — Treble Boost Cowling enhances the voice response in the important 1 kHz to 1.5 kHz range, helping produce a more penetrating and focused signal. It also helps reduce sound pickup from the sides of the microphone, concentrating voice input more effectively.
The PTT key uses a contactless magnetic system with three air-cylinder tubes, providing smooth and comfortable operation without a hard mechanical click. The red ON AIR indicator lights during transmission, clearly showing when the PTT circuit is active.
The stand allows both microphone height and angle to be adjusted for more comfortable operation. The height can be extended by up to approximately 6 cm, allowing the position to be adapted to the station and operator.
The Yaesu manual indicates compatibility with the following transceivers:

Before purchasing, confirm compatibility with your exact transceiver model. Some older Yaesu models require the optional Power Supply Kit for M-100. Final transmitted audio quality also depends on radio settings, microphone gain, equalisation, compression, voice processing and operating conditions.
