eWeLink-Remote remote control for 1/2/3 key switches - Sonoff S-MATE

S-MATE allows you to use a common wall switch (toggle or push button) with 1/2/3 buttons as a remote control for home automation scenes. After pairing with a device that has the eWeLink-Remote Gateway functionality (such as the R5 or MINI R3), you will be able to control this or other smart devices locally, using normal switches, without needing to connect to a WiFi network.

In combination with one (or more) MINI R3, S-MATE transforms a normal wall switch into a smart switch and you won't have to worry about possible changes to the decoration of the original switches, as happens with some smart switches.

The S-MATE is battery powered, so it does not require a neutral wire in the mounting box. This can only be used with connections to the switch, but it also has connections that make a 'shunt' between the wires going to the switch, eliminating the need to change the connections in the junction box. (Note: using this shunt only makes sense if the S-Mate is used in conjunction with one or more MINI R3.)

The S-MATE has a DIP Switch that allows you to select one of two types of switch: normal and pulse (pressure or momentary). This DIP Switch is factory configured in the right position. Switch it to the left if you want to use push buttons.

Once associated with an eWeLink-Remote Gateway device (through the eWeLink App), the S-MATE will be able to control, if Wi-Fi is required, all devices that have an eWeLink-Remote communication protocol. If the WiFi is working properly, you can also control any other SONOFF smart device.
