The Grazioli MV3 is a tri-band vertical antenna designed for operation on the 20, 15 and 10-metre amateur radio bands. Its quarter-wave Ground Plane design uses parallel resonant elements, allowing all three bands to be covered by a single antenna.
The antenna is fed directly at its base with a nominal impedance of 50 Ω and a female UHF connector. The feed point is DC grounded, helping to discharge static electricity accumulated on the antenna.
The MV3 provides an omnidirectional radiation pattern with vertical polarisation, making it suitable for local, national and international HF communications. When correctly assembled and adjusted, it provides a typical SWR of 1.5:1 or lower.
Construction features AW6063-T66 aluminium-alloy tubing, CNC-machined components and AISI 304 and 316 stainless-steel hardware. This combination provides excellent mechanical strength and durability for permanent outdoor installations.
The antenna handles up to 3 kW continuous power in all operating modes and includes a genuine FAIR-RITE FT240-43 ferrite toroid for constructing a common-mode choke close to the feed point.
The antenna must be installed on a mast measuring 40–52 mm in diameter, with sufficient clearance for the approximately 2.4 m radials. The mast, brackets and supporting structure must be selected according to the antenna’s wind area and local installation conditions.
The supplied ferrite toroid is intended for constructing a common-mode choke close to the antenna connector. The coaxial cable and connectors required to build the choke are not included and must be selected according to the intended power level.
The DC-grounded feed helps discharge static electricity but does not replace a properly designed earthing and lightning-protection system.
High-power operation must comply with local regulations, amateur radio licence conditions and the power ratings of the coaxial cable, connectors and all other installation components.
