The Panasonic TQ2H-12V is a compact electromechanical relay designed for signal switching in electronic and telecommunications equipment.
It features two changeover contacts, corresponding to a DPDT or 2 Form C configuration, allowing two independent circuits to be controlled simultaneously. Each contact set provides common, normally open and normally closed connections.
The coil operates at a nominal voltage of 12 VDC, with an approximate resistance of 1.03 kΩ and a nominal current consumption of approximately 11.7 mA. It is a non-latching relay, meaning that it automatically returns to its normal position when power is removed from the coil.
The contacts are rated for a maximum current of 1 A, with a maximum switching voltage of 125 VAC or 110 VDC, depending on the load and operating conditions. Its operate and release times of approximately 3 ms provide fast and reliable switching.
This relay is intended for through-hole mounting on a printed circuit board and features self-clinching PCB terminals, corresponding to the “H” version of the TQ Series.
The 12 VDC specification refers to the nominal coil voltage, not necessarily to the voltage switched by the contacts.
The 1 A rating does not mean that the relay can switch this current with every voltage or type of load. Permissible contact capacity depends on voltage, load type and switching frequency. Inductive and capacitive loads, motors and lamps may require considerable derating.
Before installation, verify the pinout, dimensions, coil voltage and DPDT configuration. A suitable driver circuit and a flyback protection diode are recommended when controlling the coil from a transistor or microcontroller.
