The Yaesu M-90D is a dynamic desktop microphone designed for amateur radio operators who want clear, comfortable and well-balanced transmitted audio with compatible Yaesu HF transceivers.
This model uses a dynamic microphone element tuned to provide a rich low-to-mid frequency response, giving the voice a natural, clear and defined character suitable for long conversations, local contacts, DX and daily SSB operation.
The microphone structure, together with the windscreen cover and directional element, helps focus voice pickup from the front while reducing side and ambient noise. This makes the M-90D a practical solution for stations where improved transmit audio is desired without the need for complex external audio processing.
The microphone includes a built-in Low-Cut filter with a 340 Hz cut-off frequency and -6 dB/octave slope, helping reduce excessive low frequencies and produce cleaner, more intelligible transmitted audio. A built-in isolation transformer is also integrated into the internal circuit to help enhance audio quality.
The PTT key uses a smooth operating system with three air-cylinder tubes, similar to Yaesu reference microphones, providing a firm and comfortable feel during extended operation. For long conversations, the LOCK key allows continuous transmit operation without keeping the PTT pressed.
The M-90D provides connection options for Yaesu HF transceivers equipped with either a round 8-pin microphone connector or an 8-pin modular microphone connector, using the supplied cable.

Before purchasing, confirm compatibility with your exact transceiver model. Some older Yaesu models may require the optional microphone power supply kit. Final transmitted audio quality also depends on radio settings, microphone gain, equalisation, compression and operating conditions.
