The CN101A 12V is a compact digital timer designed to automate the switching of electrical equipment according to daily or weekly schedules.
The timer operates from a 12 VDC power supply, making it particularly suitable for solar-energy systems, motorhomes, caravans, camping installations, vehicles, lighting and other battery-powered projects.
Its output is provided by an independent relay contact, allowing the timer to control a circuit operating at a different voltage from its own power supply. The relay contacts are rated at up to 16 A for resistive loads, with a stated maximum switching voltage of 250 VAC.
Up to 17 ON/OFF schedules can be configured, with a minimum interval of 1 minute and a maximum cycle of 168 hours, equivalent to one week. Manual operation is also available when the output needs to be controlled independently of the programmed schedule.
The LCD shows the time, day of the week and operating status. An internal lithium battery retains the clock and programmed settings during interruptions to the main 12 V power supply.
The timer must be powered exclusively from 12 VDC, observing the polarity and wiring diagram marked on the actual unit.
The 16 A rating normally applies to a resistive load. Motors, pumps, transformers, LED lighting, switch-mode power supplies and other inductive or capacitive loads may produce high starting currents. An appropriately rated external contactor or power relay should be used for these applications.
The relay output does not supply voltage. It operates as a switch that opens or closes the circuit connected to its contacts. Wiring of 230 VAC circuits should only be performed by a qualified person, with the power disconnected and the appropriate electrical protection fitted.
The timer is not intended for direct exposure to rain or moisture. Outdoor installations require a suitably rated protective enclosure.
