The TP5100 is a single-cell 8.4V lithium battery charge management chip with a dual 4.2V switch. Its ultra-compact QFN16 package and simple external circuitry make it ideal for portable devices and high-current charge management applications. It also features input overcurrent, undervoltage, overtemperature, and short-circuit protection, battery temperature monitoring, and battery reverse protection. The TP5100 offers a wide input voltage range of 5V to 18V, dual battery trickle charging in precharge, constant current, three-phase constant voltage, and precharge trickle current via external resistor adjustment, and a maximum charging current of up to 2A. Its 400kHz switching frequency allows for the use of a smaller external Suo device, while maintaining lower heat generation during high-current charging.
