Delivery policy

The Hari G5RV is a robust and versatile multiband wire antenna designed for amateur radio stations that need to operate on several HF bands with a single antenna.

The system consists of an approximately 31-metre dipole and a 9.5-metre, 450 Ω parallel feed line. This line acts as a matching section and terminates in an encapsulated 1:1 current balun, allowing connection to a 50 Ω coaxial cable.

The antenna primarily covers the 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10-metre bands. Depending on the installation and operating frequency, the SWR may range approximately from 1:1 to 4:1, so an antenna tuner will normally be required. With a suitable tuner, operation on the WARC bands is also possible, although efficiency may vary.

The standard version uses strong 3 mm stranded steel antenna wire with a weather-resistant plastic coating. It can be installed horizontally, as an inverted V, or with the ends bent down when the available installation space is limited.

Package contents

  • Hari G5RV dipole antenna
  • 450 Ω parallel feed line
  • 1:1 current balun
  • Insulators

Recommended applications

  • Fixed HF amateur radio stations
  • Communication on the 80 to 10-metre bands
  • Multiband operation with a single antenna
  • Horizontal or inverted-V installations
  • Use with transceivers and amplifiers up to 1000 W
  • Shortwave communication reception

Important note

An antenna tuner should be used, particularly on frequencies where the SWR exceeds the transceiver’s internal matching range.

The 450 Ω parallel feed line should hang freely, remain clear of metallic objects and run away from the dipole at approximately a right angle whenever possible. The 50 Ω coaxial cable and PL-259 plug are not listed as included.
