Delivery policy

The Hari G5RV is a robust multiband wire antenna designed for amateur radio stations requiring operation across several HF bands, including the demanding 160-metre band, using a single antenna.

The system consists of an approximately 63-metre dipole and a 19.5-metre, 450 Ω parallel feed line. This feed line acts as an impedance-matching section and terminates in an encapsulated 1:1 current balun, allowing connection to a 50 Ω coaxial cable.

The antenna is designed for operation on the 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10-metre bands. Depending on the installation and operating frequency, the SWR may range approximately from 1:1 to 4:1, so an antenna tuner will normally be required.

With a suitable tuner, operation on the 30, 17 and 12-metre WARC bands is also possible. However, higher impedances and reduced efficiency may occur on these non-resonant bands.

The standard version uses strong 3 mm stranded steel antenna wire with a weather-resistant plastic coating. It can be installed horizontally, as an inverted V, as a sloper or with its ends bent down when there is insufficient space for a fully extended installation.

Recommended applications

  • Fixed HF amateur radio stations
  • Communication on the 160 to 10-metre bands
  • HF DX operation
  • Multiband operation with a single antenna
  • Horizontal or inverted-V installations
  • Use with transceivers and amplifiers up to 1000 W
  • Shortwave communication reception

Important note

Due to its dimensions, this antenna requires considerable installation space and sufficiently strong supporting points.

An antenna tuner will normally be required, particularly on frequencies where the SWR exceeds the transceiver’s internal matching range.

The 450 Ω parallel feed line should hang freely and remain clear of metal structures, electrical cables, walls and other objects. Whenever possible, it should run away from the dipole at approximately a right angle.

The 50 Ω coaxial cable and PL-259 plug required for connection to the SO-239 socket are not listed as included.
