The Arrow II 146/437-10BP is a portable dual-band Yagi antenna designed for amateur radio communications through low-Earth-orbit satellites in the 2-metre and 70-centimetre bands.

It combines a 3-element VHF Yagi and a 7-element UHF Yagi on the same boom. This configuration provides the directivity required to manually point the antenna towards a satellite during its pass.

The BP – Backpack designation identifies the version with a two-piece split boom. When assembled, the boom measures approximately 37.5 inches. Once dismantled, its longest section measures less than approximately 22 inches, making it easier to carry in a backpack or the optional Arrow Antennas roll-up bag.

The VHF and UHF sections have independent Gamma Match systems, supplied pre-assembled and factory-tuned. Each band has its own female BNC connection, allowing one radio to be connected to the VHF section and another to the UHF section.

The antenna uses removable aluminium elements, a foam-covered handle and plastic safety tips. Beneath the handle is a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting point, compatible with many camera tripods and mounting accessories.

Important note

The 146/437-10BP does not include a duplexer or coaxial cables. It has one independent female BNC connection for VHF and another for UHF.

When using two radios, each transceiver must be connected to the corresponding antenna section using a suitable coaxial cable. Operation with a single radio and one antenna socket requires a separately purchased compatible diplexer and the necessary coaxial leads.

When held by hand, power must be kept below 10 W due to RF exposure and safety considerations. The 150 W maximum rating applies only when the antenna is correctly mounted and positioned away from people.

The manufacturer’s roll-up bag is an optional accessory and is not included. Arrow Antennas does not publish an official numerical gain figure for this model.
