The RG58 coaxial cable has a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω and features double shielding, consisting of aluminium foil and braiding. This construction helps reduce electromagnetic interference affecting the transmitted signal.
Its inner conductor is AWG 24 CCS copper-clad steel. The connectors feature nickel-plated contacts with gold-plated pins.
With a length of 10 metres, the cable is suitable for installations requiring a greater distance between devices. It can be used with radio equipment, receivers, scanners, measuring instruments, antennas and compatible Thin Ethernet coaxial networks.
This cable has a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω. Before use, confirm that the equipment and BNC connections are also rated for 50 Ω, especially in video systems, where 75 Ω BNC cables and connectors are also commonly used.
Due to its 10-metre length, attenuation must be considered in radio-frequency applications. RG58 losses increase with frequency, so this cable may not be the most suitable option for VHF, UHF or higher-frequency transmission when low loss is essential.
The manufacturer states that this assembled cable is not suitable for cutting and soldering different connectors. For customised cables, use coaxial cable sold by the metre and connectors specifically designed for assembly.
